Kotaro Yoshitani is directing the stage play and Sayaka Asai is in charge of the script and lyrics.
Eito Konishi is cast as the protagonist Hanako-kun. And Akari Takaishi is cast as the main heroine Nene Yashiro.
"Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun -The Musical-" is set to open at COOL JAPAN PARK OSAKA TT Hall from January 22 to 24, 2021, then at Tokyo Dome City Thater G-rosso from January 28 to 31.
I had read the original story, so I was very happy when I heard that I would be playing the role of Tsukasa. Tsukasa has an enigmatic personality. I've been wanting to play this kind of role for a long time, so I'm really excited about it. I've read the script, and I can't wait to see how it will be portrayed on stage and how the audience will see it. I'm so happy that it's a musical, and I can't stop imagining it. Laughs.
I'm really happy to be able to live in the world of "Jibaku Shonen Hanako-kun," as I originally liked and read the original work. Mitsuba's cute face has an incredibly poisonous tongue. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this will be portrayed on stage. As this is a musical, please look forward to the chemical reaction that will occur when the world of Hanako-kun is combined with singing and dancing! Until the performance, I will do my best to face the role of Mitsuba and make it enjoyable for everyone. Thank you for your support!
I'll be playing the role of Sakura Nanamine this time! I think this story has a lot of "kyuun" points: the exquisite distance between Hanako-kun and Nene, and the soothing cuteness of Mokke. Among them, Sakura has a different atmosphere and governmental office than everyone else, so I hope I can deliver a cool and cute image of her being at the mercy of the people around her. I'll do my best to add a nice accent to the work!

Karen Sakura's Comment:
My name is Sakura Karen, and I will be playing the role of Yako. I am truly honored to be able to participate in this wonderful work that is loved by so many people. I was immediately captivated by this world, with its dark atmosphere of monsters and the warmth of humanity that lies next to it. Yako is one of the Seven Wonders, but she is actually a very cute and charming character with a very pure heart. I'm going to do my best to add color to the world of this work while dealing with her! I hope you'll look forward to it!

This is the first time for me to play a character in an anime, so I am very honored. I will do my best to understand the character Natsuhiko Hyuuga as you imagine him to be, and to give everyone who comes to see the performance a sense of excitement and satisfaction. The stage adaptation of "Jibaku Shonen Hanako-kun" is loved by many people. I would like to create a stage that will captivate many people. And I will make it a work that will make all of us cast members, all of the people involved, and all of the fans feel the best.

Kotaro Yoshitani's Comment:
Scary things go well with a musical. Things that are unsettling and startling, full of surprising tones. It's a strange, scary, fun and fascinating world that you can see in it. On stage, I want to color Hanako-kun's world with a different approach than in manga and anime. I hope you will open the door to a fun and frightening musical version of Hanako-kun. The curtain is about to go up on the play, and, you know, she's just getting closer and closer...
Sayaka Asai's Comment:
I had a fascination with the "Seven Wonders of School". Sharing with my friends the thrilling sensation of wanting to see and touch them in spite of their fear. I wanted to knock on the bathroom door of the old school building. Many things coexist in this work. Strange and funny, cute and cool, painful and happy, hateful and lovable, past and present, life and death, this bank and the other bank.... I am very much looking forward to seeing what Hanako and Nene will bring to the table in this chaos!
