The official Twitter account for the TV anime adaptation of Daisuke Hagiwara's Horimiya manga has released a new promotional video that announces the anime's theme songs and artists.
Yoh Kamiyama will be performing the opening theme song "Iro Kо̄sui" (Color Perfurme), and the band Friends will perform the ending theme song "Yakusoku" (Promise).
COMMENT:
I wrote the song "Color Perfume" as the opening theme for the TV animation "Horimiya". I would be happy if you could feel the fragility and preciousness of the days of youth that we realize after they are gone. It's been about ten years since the original story was released, and I'm looking forward to the long-awaited anime adaptation.
I am very honored to be involved in this wonderful work that carries everyone's feelings.
Masashi Ishihama is directing the series at CloverWorks. Takao Yoshioka is in charge of series composition and the script. Haruko Iizuka is designing the characters. Masaru Yokoyama is composing the music.

At school, Kyouko Hori is known for being smart, attractive, and popular. On the other hand, her classmate, the boring, gloomy Izumi Miyamura, tends to get painted as a “loser fanboy.” But when a liberally pierced and tattooed (not to mention downright gorgeous) Miyamura appears unexpectedly on the doorstep of secretly plain-Jane homebody Hori, these two similarly dissimilar teenagers discover that there are multiple sides to every story…and person!
The anime will premiere on January 9, 2021 on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, BS11 and MBS in Japan.

Is that so? That's the image I have of her, but if you talk to her, you'll find out more and more interesting things about her. I've always felt uncomfortable about unconsciously making assumptions.
Then I met Horimiya, and when I saw them interacting with each other, I thought, "This is it!" I thought, "This is it!"
In the midst of it all, there was a constant shower of love. It never stops, and it accelerates. Kyun.
I started working on the ending theme while being covered in kyuun. I thought I would end up with kyuun itself, but as I built up the words over and over again, I got a feeling that I was not only crushing on her, but that I was also loving her again for something that was too obvious, too close, and that I had missed. I'm grateful for the feelings I was able to realize thanks to meeting Horimiya. And I want to express my love through this song to everyone involved in the anime, one by one, for being entrusted with the ending by Friends, and for playing the sound with the band. I may not be able to put it into words well, but I'm happy if you can feel it.
For those of you who are going to watch the anime, I hope the ending theme "Yakusoku (Promise)" will make you feel the love in your heart.
