The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Ohba's Platinum End manga has made two new cast announcements.
The anime will have a full uninterrupted 24-episode run in order to adapt the manga's full story.
Kaori Maeda as Mimi Yamada
While it is a fantasy, the inner lives of the characters and what is happening in their lives are very real. What is life? What is death? Just when you want to look away, you are confronted with the question, "What would you do? That's what confronts me, and I can't take my eyes off them. I'm the only one who can play Mirai Kakehashi. I went to the audition believing that strongly. I went into the audition with a strong belief that only I could do it.
I am pleased to announce that I will be taking charge of the CV of Nasse, a special class angel. From the moment I heard about the audition, I thought "I definitely want to play this role...! So I'm honestly very happy to be able to voice her. "Life and death" for humans and angels. What is true "happiness"? I was naturally drawn into the story, thinking that while it is a fantastical world, it could possibly happen to someone close to me. I would like to enjoy myself as I post-record the story, staying close to the world view and the characters.
M・A・O as Saki Hanakago
Hideya Takahashi was previously announced as directing the anime at Signal.MD, but the staff now say he is directing just the "first series." Kazuchika Kise is directing the "second series." Hideyasu Narita is working on the art design, and Ayumi Ikeda is the color key artist. Yūsuke Ueno is editing. Masahiro Tokuda is composing the music. Kōji Ōdate is designing the characters, and Shinichi Inotsume is supervising the series scripts. KUSANAGI is handling the art, Masanori Ikeda is the CGI director, and Takatoshi Hamano is the sound director at Magic Capsule.
Platinum End is set to premiere consecutively from October 7, 2021 to March 2022.
Crunchyroll will stream the anime when it premieres later this year in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.
