The TV anime takes place 20 years before the start of the second chapter of the game.
The anime will air on Tokyo MX on October 13 at 11:00 PM, before airing later that night on BS11. It will also air on WOWOW and MBS, and will stream on several services in Japan, including Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and AbemaTV.

Naoto Hosoda is directing the anime at Yokohama Animation Lab. He is also supervising the scripts and co-writing them with Yūichirō Momose. Akiko Sugizono is in charge of character designs, and Hirotsugu Kakoi is the art director. Masaru Yokoyama is composing the music.
