Crunchyroll has announced that they will be bringing Natsuki Takaya's Fruits Basket compilation film, "Fruits Basket -prelude-" to theaters in the United States and Canada in both subbed and dubbed formats on June 25, 28 and 29. Then in the United Kingdom, with the dubbed version only, on July 20.
Tickets go on sale for the United States and Canada June 3, and for the United Kingdom on June 24.
The film will include the prequel telling Tohru's parent's story, "Kyо̄ko to Katsuya no Monogatari (Kyо̄ko and Katsuya's Story)," as well as new scenes written specifically for the film by Natsuki Takaya that will show events that happened to Kyo and Tohru after the TV anime's story.
The main staff and cast from the 2019-2021 TV anime will be returning for the film.
The Blu-ray will be released the same day as the film's premiere.
Ōhashi Trio performed the film's theme song titled, "Niji to Kaito" (Rainbow and Kite).
Miyuki Sawashiro and Yoshimasa Hosoya reprised their roles as Kyoko and Katsuya Honda.
Fruits Basket -prelude- premiered February 18 in Japan.
