A message from Setona Mizushiro:
"Upon making this film, I had a premonition that the characters won't be beautified and would be properly filmed as real people. That prediction came true, and I think it turned out to be a really happy live-action film. Okura-san and Narita-san did a great job of capturing the essence of the characters. I highly recommend watching this film."
Phantom Film streamed a new version of the film's trailer that has the new opening date.
Tadayoshi Okura and Ryō Narita star in the film as Kyōichi Ōtomo and Wataru Imagase.

Crunchyroll has translated comments from both the main actors concerning the scene:
Comment from Tadayoshi Okura:
"Narita-kun's movements were flexible and really cute. Thanks to his softness, I felt very relaxed during the shooting. We kept the same distance from the start to the end of shooting, and it might have been good for us to act in such a natural way."
Comment from Ryo Narita:
"I was scared because I'd never done an ear cleaning before. At first, I was touching lightly around the entrance of his ear to see how I was doing (laughs). I might have tickled him because I was being modest too much. During the shooting, I was careful not to make Okura-san hate me. That's because that feeling was linked to how I felt about Imagase. Anyway, I was trying not to create a moment that he would hate me."
MOVIE/ILLUSTRATED POSTER:
The tagline for the film is:
"Suki de, Suki de, Kurushikute, Shiawase" (I love you, I love you, painful, and happy).

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese manga and The Carp on the Chopping Block Jumps Twice sequel, and describes the story as:
Ootomo Kyoichi, a weak-willed salaryman in a troubled marriage, is cheating on his wife. To his surprise, his wife hires a private eye to expose his affair–and the private eye is none other than Imagase, an underclassman Kyoichi knew in college. Imagase explains that he's gay and always had a crush on Kyoichi, so he offers to hide the infidelity in exchange for the make-out session he'd always fantasized about back in college. Kyoichi reluctantly agrees, thinking it will save his marriage, but things with Imagase soon spiral out of control.
