The official website and Twitter page for the TV anime adaptation of Aka Akasaka's Kaguya-sama: Love is War (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunōsen) manga have released a new key visual for the anime's second season.
They've also announced that Season 2 will premiere on April 11, 2020.
Returning cast includes Aoi Koga as Kaguya Shinomiya, Makoto Furukawa as Miyuki Shirogane, Konomi Kohara as Chika Fujiwara, and Ryōta Suzuki as Yū Ishigami.
New cast members for Season 2 joining the returning cast from the first season are:
Miyu Tomita as Miko Iino and Rina Hidaka as Kobachi Osaragi.
An image promotional video was posted to the Twitter page that previews Kaguya Shinomiya’s character song, "Check the Answer," which is sung by Kaguya's VA Aoi Koga. The CD will be released on March 25.
The new season will have returning staff members with Mamoru Hatakeyama directing, Yasuhiro Nakanishi in charge of the script, Yūko Yahiro designing the characters, Kei Haneoka composing the music, and production at studio A-1 Pictures.
Viz Media is publishing the manga in English, and summarizes the story as:
Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane are two geniuses who stand atop their prestigious academy's student council, making them the elite among elite. But it's lonely at the top and each has fallen for the other. There's just one huge problem standing in the way of lovey-dovey bliss—they're both too prideful to be the first to confess their romantic feelings and thus become the “loser” in the competition of love! And so begins their daily schemes to force the other to confess first!
