The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Miki Yoshikawa's A Couple of Cuckoos manga has announced that Yoshitsugu Matsuoka has been cast as Shion Asuma, Nagi's classmate and friend.
Hiroaki Akagi is the chief director of the anime and Yoshiyuki Shirahata is directing the anime at Shin-Ei Animation and Synergy SP. Yasuhiro Nakanishi is overseeing the series scripts, and Aya Takano is designing the characters.
Ikimono-gakari vocalist Kiyoe Yoshioka is performing the opening theme song titled, "Dekoboko" (Rough).
The ending theme song titled, "Shikaku Unmei" (Square Destiny) is performed by Sangatsu no Phantasia.
The anime premiered on April 23, 2022 on the NUMAnimation programming block on TV Asahi. It will run for two consecutive cours.
