The official website for the new TV anime adaptation of Natsuki Takaya's Fruits Basket manga has announced that the anime will be getting a compilation film in Japan on February 18 titled, "Fruits Basket -prelude-."
The film will include the prequel telling Tohru's parent's story, "Kyо̄ko to Katsuya no Monogatari (Kyо̄ko and Katsuya's Story)," as well as new scenes written specifically for the film by Natsuki Takaya that will show events that happened to Kyo and Tohru after the TV anime's story.
The main staff and cast from the 2019-2021 TV anime will be returning for the film.
The Blu-ray will be released the same day as the film's premiere.
