The official website for Kyoto Animation's Free! franchise has released the first teaser visual for the second film in the new two-part anime film project, Free!–the Final Stroke–. They've also released a trailer that recaps the entire franchise.
The tagline on the visual reads, "This is my 'Free…'"
This is being called the “final chapter” of the franchise.
Nobunaga Shimazaki is reprising his role as Haruka Nanase.
The film will be released in two parts: the first part premiered September 17, 2021 in Japan, and the second part will premiere April 22, 2022 in Japan.

OLDCODEX performed the theme song for the first film titled, "Heading to Over - Version:Free -," which is a remake of the opening theme song for the 3rd Season of the anime. The single was released on September 15 in Japan.
Eisaku Kawanami is returning from previous projects in the franchise to direct the film at Kyoto Animation.
The tagline for the film reads in English: “Let’s go to the stage of glory…”
The story in the new film follows Haruka as he heads to the new stage at the Sydney Games and competes among the best of the best to show his skills as he faces old rivals.
