The official website and Twitter account for the TV anime adaptation of Moto'o Nakanishi's Kijin Gentōshō (Sword of the Demon Hunter) novel series has released a teaser trailer, teaser visual, the main cast and staff, and the Summer 2024 premiere.
Sword of the Demon Hunter is set to premiere in Summer 2024.
In the Edo period, there was a shrine maiden called "Itsukihime" in the mountain village of Kadono. Jinta, a young man who acts as the shrine maiden's guardian despite being a stranger, encounters a mysterious demon who speaks of the far future in the forest where he went to defeat it. From Edo to the Heisei era, this is the first volume of a huge Japanese fantasy series about a demon man who travels through time while continuously questioning the meaning of wielding a sword.

Kazuya Aiura is directing the anime at Yokohama Animation Lab. Deko Akao is overseeing the series scripts, Taro Ikegami is designing the characters, and Ryuuichi Takada, Keiichi Hirokawa, and Kuniyuki Takahashi from MONACA are composing the music.
